Map

Mission La Purísima Concepción sits on over 900 acres as part of the State Park System for California. There are buildings and walking trails throughout the area. I have no map of the entire area but in the Mission museum there is a diorama that shows the entire area in model form...

On the left is a picture of the model of the Mission buildings. These are what most people visit. On the right is a picture of the model of the rest of the Mission properties. You'll note an extensive agricultural layout. Hiking trails (about 12 miles total!) exist through this entire area.

In the budget submitted early 2008 the Governor has scheduled this State park to be closed. [Update May 2008: News reports are that the new version of the budget does not contain any park closures.] If you care to comment about this action please contact the Governor and legislators and express your opinion.
