I made one visit to the mission as a child. Traveling with my mother, grandmother, and aunt we saw the mission in the early 1950s. I had my trusty Kodak box camera and below are the better of the pictures I took that day...

At the fountain in the plaza garden are my grandmother, mother, and aunt (left to right). My grandmother and aunt posed at the statue at the other end of the garden.

The remains of the old stone church are what's left of the original mission. The main church collapsed in the 1812 earthquake. The archway left standing is five stories tall, giving you an indication of how large the church originally was. Under the overhangs you can see where swallows build their nests.
