The church is an active church and pictures had to be taken rather quickly as a Latin Mass was about to begin. Since I try to have pictures with no people in them, this also made it necessary to edit out a few people who had already seated themselves for that Mass.
A long shot down the church shows the altar, the two side prayer areas, and the rather large pictures that make up the Stations of The Cross.

The main altar is the original altar. The main statue of Saint Bonaventure was sent from the Philippines in 1808 and is believed to be over 400 years old. The centerpiece painting over the Altar of Our Lady of Guadalupe (right below) is by Francisco Cabrere and dates from 1747.

At the back of the church is the Serra Chapel and Baptistry. This picture was taken through the locked doors.

Finally, by the side door to the garden sits an old Wells Fargo safe. As Mass was about to start I had to leave and never got to hear any story about the safe; but it remains an interesting enigma.

Proceed now, into the garden...![]()
