14 December 1793: Raids from village of Quiroste, near Point Año Nuevo attack, wounding guards, burning a guardhouse and lamb corral. (Only attack on northern mission.)
1794: Soldiers from San Francisco and Monterey. Eight Indians taken captive. Leaders sent to San Diego and die in 1798.
1795: Quadrangle completed.
1797: Branciforte Pueblo established nearby. Tensions between mission and settlers develop.
1818: Branciforte settlers sack Santa Cruz as mission is temporarily abandoned because of a possible raid from pirate Bouchard.
